Ceewood pre-school playgroup CIC
About Us
Under new management
Ceewood pre-school playgroup is within walking distance of 4 local primary schools.
We have a large inside room and garden for the children to use as they wish.
Working along side the children to help develop their skills as they play. We choose equipment that is age appropriate, stimulating, fun and conforms to the relevant safety regulations. We use a variety of natural materials and review our provision of toys and equipment regularly.
Inside we have a lovely home corner and dressing up area to help children be creative, express themselves and have fun role playing, with a new activity taking place weekly from, vets clinic to superhero cave to hair salon, the children are always engaged and creating new games and ideas.
Also our children are able to choose resources that they would like from the self section boxes spread around the room, from cars, trains, building blocks, cutting and sticking, colouring, shape play or magnets just to name a few.
In the garden we have a grass area with slides, play houses, along with insect hunting, superhero missions, dinosaur land and camp fire building. we also have sand and water tables, ride on toys (bikes, scooters, etc) and much more which is on our safty floor playground. There is also an activity table outside with free painting which has been a huge hit with the children.
Each child is allocated a key person when they start, we believe that children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs. Parents have confidence that our staff are committed and the setting is a happy and dedicated place for their child to attend. We want children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the setting and to feel secure and comfortable with our staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both their children’s well-being and their role as active partners with our setting. We aim to make our setting a welcoming place where children settle quickly and easily because consideration has been given to the individual needs and circumstances of children and their families.
The key person role is set out in the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. These procedures set out a model for developing a key person approach that promotes effective and positive relationships for children.
